Saying a great big thank you

Challenge—
Symantec makes great products. In fact, they are the market leader in security software. Their partners know this and get lots of support and marketing tools from Symantec to help sell them. However, what they didn’t get until recently was an incentive programme. That’s why Symantec introduced Symplus.
Quite simply, Symplus is Symantec’s way of saying thank you to its partners for doing the things they do every day, like selling products, doing sales training and attending seminars. For each of these activities they earn points which are then turned into cash on a Symplus MasterCard.
What we needed to do was get their partners and people excited about the new programme, as well as explain in simple terms how it works.
Solution—
We created a campaign that brought Symplus to life both online and offline across 58 countries, in 16 languages.
To get the partners’ attention, we used a range of materials, including HTML emails, a PowerPoint presentation and an FAQ document. We also produced a short film featuring an animated character who walked viewers through Symplus, step by step.
And to get the people within Symantec excited about Symplus, we created strut cards, posters, ‘fast fact’ cards and a greetings card desk drop. These were designed to provide information in a direct way, without overpowering the audience. Also, to appear in social media and PR activities, we released a web banner and 30 second edit of the film.
Results—
The campaign saw over 1,000 registrations in the first three weeks of going live.
The response to the film from within Symantec has also been fantastic, with Caroline Garrett – Alliances and Channel Partner Marketing Manager, EMEA – saying:
“These are brilliant! Big well done to the developers on the visuals! They look fantastic.”
