Demonstrating the value of .co.uk

Nominet, the organisation that manages .uk domains, wanted to support their domain name registrars and help them not only increase sales of .uk domains, but also the number of registrant renewals. The problem was that Nominet had relatively low awareness and .uk was often seen as the poor relation to .com by business people.
First we gave .uk a confident visual identity that could be used both by Nominet and supported by their registrars. We then developed a dedicated microsite at www.keepyour.co.uk for existing domain owners to assess the health of their current domains and determine when they would need to renew. Finally, we used interactive web banners and press advertising to improve campaign awareness in the market.
Click-throughs from the banner advertising comfortably out-performed industry averages (some by over 100%). The site saw significant traffic throughout the campaign and the microsite is still live at the time of writing.
