Hello all, after 29 years of oper­a­tion, the last six as part of WPP, Ban­ner has moved to become part of Medi­a­com. This move will be effec­tive as from 2nd April 2013. We will be called Medi­a­com Ban­ner and will sit as a core part of Medi­a­com Busi­ness within the inter­na­tional team. In 2011 Tech.YR was launched to ser­vice a grow­ing num­ber of Tech­nol­ogy and B2B clients within the global Y&R Net­work. Tech.YR brought together a num­ber of agen­cies that had tech­ni­cal client spe­cial­ists includ­ing Ban­ner, Sicola Mar­tin, VML and Y&R. In 2012 we cemented our rela­tion­ship with VML Lon­don, mov­ing into their offices and sub­se­quently con­sol­i­dat­ing the cam­paign and dig­i­tal asset cre­ation into VML.

Mov­ing for­ward, Ban­ner will now focus exclu­sively on Media and Search, which has for some time been our core capa­bil­ity.

With the event sea­son in full swing, our next engage­ment is at the B2B Mar­ket­ing Sum­mit on the 14th June. The event’s aim is to help busy mar­keters improve their skillsets and exper­tise in one com­pelling day. The B2B Mar­ket­ing Sum­mit is for all mar­ket­ing pro­fes­sion­als with the respon­si­bil­ity for man­ag­ing B2B campaigns.

We’ve been sup­port­ing the Spear­head ini­tia­tive for years now. In fact, our very own Sophia Hutch­ings came to us through Spear and is now going from strength to strength as part of our account man­age­ment team.

Well, it seems we’re not the only ones to recog­nise the great work they do. Stephen Timms MP has invited Spear to the House of Com­mons to cel­e­brate the trans­for­ma­tional employ­ment ini­tia­tives they have achieved in London.

In short, Spear­head helps busi­nesses cre­ate real social change through the recruit­ment of entry-level can­di­dates who, while com­ing from dis­ad­van­taged back­grounds, pos­sess gen­uine abil­ity and poten­tial.

B2B Mar­ket­ing Mag­a­zine is host­ing a web­cast which aims to help you max­imise lead gen­er­a­tion, nur­tur­ing and con­ver­sion by exam­in­ing the role that live events can play in effec­tive demand gen activ­i­ties. In addi­tion, it will pro­vide prac­ti­cal guid­ance on core aspects of the process.

To offi­cially launch our excit­ing new global prac­tice, Tech.YR, we hosted a party at the annual SXSW (South by South­west) event in Austin, Texas. This fes­ti­val of mul­ti­me­dia encom­passes film, music and inter­ac­tive. Nat­u­rally, our inter­est is in the latter.

SXSW Inter­ac­tive has built a rep­u­ta­tion for being a breed­ing ground of new cre­ative and emerg­ing tech­nolo­gies. And only by mak­ing sure our knowl­edge of the tech indus­try is state-of-the-art, can we com­bine it with oh-so-clever cre­ative think­ing to pro­duce the insight­ful and effec­tive work our clients expect.

It’s time for Michael to hit the speaker trail again, at the Asso­ci­a­tion for Online Pub­lish­ers’ B2B event on the 14th March in London.

The topic of the event is Rein­vent­ing the busi­ness model – redefin­ing the rela­tion­ship and will dis­cuss trends and changes in the mar­ket­ing mix for B2B brands. It will espe­cially focus on the part pub­lish­ers can play by bet­ter lever­ag­ing their assets to their clients’ benefits.

The audi­ence will include senior execs from major B2B media own­ers, agen­cies and brands. It’ll be well worth attend­ing, if you can make it.
