Rod Banner
Chairman & CEO
Roderick Banner founded Banner in 1984 following 9 years in international advertising agencies. It started as just a little company with big ideas. But with Rod’s experience in both the creative and strategic sides of advertising, he was ideally placed to build Banner into a leading technology specialist. Rod loves technology – which is probably quite a useful trait in someone who owns a technology marketing agency. In addition to a passion for the more traditional ‘techie’ innovations, Rod boasts a collection of one, two and three-wheeled motor vehicles and more gadgets than any man has a right to own.
Steven Elliott
Business Development Director
Steven began his career in technology marketing as a PR consultant, advising companies such as Cisco and Netscape during the early boom years of the Internet. He first joined Banner in 1997 and was duly converted to an integrated approach to marketing, developing pan-European and global campaigns for Novell and launching Sony Europe’s direct sales operation across the region. Three years at Euro RSCG followed, where Steven led the Intel account first in Europe and then as Brand Director for Australia, overseeing major launches for the Pentium 4 processor, Itanium and Centrino Mobile Technology. Steven boomeranged back to Banner in 2004, taking a position as business development director with responsibility for sales and marketing across all of the company’s services. Following three successful years winning pitches for Siebel Systems, Sony and Hitachi among others, Steven was appointed Managing Director.
Louise Burrough
Creative Services Director
Louise ensures the work Banner creates arrives on time, on budget and without compromise. She works directly with all of our clients, regularly demonstrating how to achieve the impossible without risking the world. She has over 12 years project management experience with leading integrated agencies including Agency Republic and Claydon Heeley Jones Mason as well as client-side with O2. She has worked with clients as diverse as Microsoft, Pepsi, BritVic and the Samaritans among others. When we don’t know how to make something happen, we ask Lou.
Belinda Raynes
Director
Banner Events
Belinda set up Banner’s events department in 1998. Since its inception, Belinda and her team have dealt with innumerable projects, as stand alone events or as part of integrated campaigns. Belinda’s background as PR and Events Director at Ziff-Davis stands her in good stead for the projects she regularly deals with at Banner. Undertakings have included international roadshows for Cisco, a pan-European airport promotion for Sony, outdoor and stunt promotions for the BSA, and street-level activity for BlackBerry.
Mike Jarvis
International Media Director
Having co-founded the world’s first international media buying agency back in the mists of time, Mike Jarvis has since been voted the most influential person in media by his peers in the industry. Mike joined Banner in 1997, and has built our media discipline into a formidable team, helping to spread the word about our clients on the internet, airwaves, printed page and pretty much every other conceivable way. Prior to joining Banner, Mike set up MJP (later to become Carat International) in the 70s, and went on to enjoy a stint at Gateway computer, initially as Worldwide Media Director and subsequently as European Marketing Director
Jay Ball
Creative Director
Jay began his career in the late 1970s as an itinerant camel herder throughout north Africa. He was later briefly (yet erroneously) implicated in the sale of the now infamous Hitler Diaries. Jay surfaced again in early 1989 under the guise of the Second Son of Arkham, leading a small cult of devoted followers in a quest to discover the one true site of the fabled Camelot. After the failure of the expedition on the outskirts of Slough, the cult broke up and Jay once again went to ground. He finally broke cover in the 1990s to become an award-winning creative director specialising in selling technology to complex markets.
Michael Wrigley
Director of Interative
Michael has over a decade’s experience delivering offline and online marketing communications. At Banner, Michael works with key technology clients to define and lead the delivery of innovative digital applications. He applies a strategic angle to the specification of these solutions ensuring the delivery of every project is underpinned by a tried and tested methodology. He has worked with numerous clients including HP, Cisco, Adobe, Astra and Siebel. Prior to working at Banner, Michael worked as an Account Director at Wheel Limited, one of Europe's premiere interactive agencies.
